Turn On Network Discovery (Windows 10)

Issue:

How do I turn on Network Discovery to allow my PC see other network computers and devices and make it visible to other network computers,?

Environment:

PC (Windows 10)

Resolution:

To turn on Network Discovery,

  1. Select the Start menu icon in the lower left hand corner. Search for the Control Panel and open up the app that is listed.
  2. In the Control Panel window that opens, be sure to set View By as Large Icons (option in the far right hand corner of the page). Choose Network and Sharing Center in the list to open it.
  3. Select Change advanced sharing settings.
  4. Choose Turn on network discovery and tap Save changes.
  5. You may also want to set File and Printer Sharing to be set as on, too (choose Turn on file and printer sharing).
