Convert a .pages file to a .docx file

Issue:

How do I open a Pages document in Word?

Environment:

PC, Microsoft Office (Word)

Cause:

Pages files cannot be opened in Word unless the .pages file is converted to a .doc or .docx file.

Resolution:

You may use a third-party application to convert the file(s) you need.

Zamzar

You can use Zamzar Online File Converter to convert the file:

1. Open a browser and visit https://www.zamzar.com/.

2. Click on Add Files and browse for and upload the .pages file.

3. Click on Convert To and, under "Document Formats," click doc or docx.

4. Click on Convert Now. 

5. You can then Download the .doc or .docx file onto your PC and open it in Word.

CloudConvert

You can use CloudConvert to convert the file:

1. Open a browser and visit https://www.cloudconvert.com
2. Click Select Files and chose the .pages file(s) from your computer.
3. Select the preferred format for your files (.doc, .docx, .pdf, etc.)
4. Click Start Conversion.
5. You can then Download your newly formatted files onto your PC and open them in Word, or a PDF Reader (if you chose this format.)
