Locate CRN

Issue:

How do I locate the CRN for a course?

Environment:

The CRN, or Course Registration Number, is a five-number designation used identity courses for registration.

Resolution:

  1. The CRN for a course can be located by searching for the course in the Course Schedule and Section Search.  (Alternatively, enrolled students can also use the "Look Up Classes" link in the Registration Tools channel on the Academic Services tab in MyCharleston.)

  1. In the Search by Term dropdown menu, select the appropriate term and click Submit.

  2. Under Class Schedule Search, use the dropdown fields to look for the course by Subject, Course Number, Title, etc.

  3. Click Class Search at the bottom.

  4. Find the appropriate course in the results.  The CRN is the five-digit number included in the course name.
