Zoom Audio Issues with HP Envy Laptops

ISSUE:

Zoom constantly crashes or has audio/microphone issues. Restarting the computer only sometimes helps temporarily.

 

ENVIRONMENT:

HP Envy Laptops with AMD Processors/Graphics

Zoom or other web conferencing applications

 

RESOLUTION:

There are many forums posts both on HP's website and on Microsoft Community forums about this. Many recommend downloading drivers from AMD directly. For the first issue I had with this, installing the latest "recommended" (not "optional") driver from AMD fixed it. At the time of writing this, that was version 20.9.1. Linked websites below:
