Installing UC4 9.3.5

Issue:

How do I install the upgraded version of UC4, version 9.3.5?

Environment:

UC4/Automic

Prerequisites:

• You must have administrative rights on your computer to install new software.
• You must have permissions to UC4 before installing/using. You may make this request using the EAM Application Support ticket. You will also need to submit a VPN Access Request ticket for the SG_AppUser_Automic security group.
• You must be connected to VPN in order to download the links, and you must be in a special VPN group that allows access to UC4 (granted at the time your permissions request is approved).
• Java is required to run UC4. See the Compatibility Matrix for supported Java versions

Resolution:

The unified link contains the connection for UC4 Prod and Test and the you can make the selection using the drop down next to the "Connection" field on the login page. Pay close attention to the "Client Installation Steps."

Client Installation Steps:

To set up the Unified UC4 Client (only on Windows)

1. Download the CofC Unified Applications Manager Client to a local PC: rp-erp-jobsub11.cougars.int:5150/UC4PROD/UnifiedClient.zip
   • Having trouble accessing the link? Here are a few things you can check:
     • Try connecting to VPN if you are not already connected. You must be in a special VPN group that grants access to UC4. To obtain this group, please submit a VPN Access Request ticket for the SG_AppUser_Automic security group.
     • Not everyone has access to UC4. If you don't have permissions to use UC4 yet, make the request first.
     • Try a different browser.
     • Try typing the location directly into your browser.
     • Try using the "Source" link at the bottom of this article instead, and then try the download from that site.
2. Create a new folder under your user profile (usually C:\Users\<username>) called AppWorx

   • Note: If there is a folder named '.AppWorx' DO NOT reuse it. It is from the old UC4.

3. Unzip the contents of UnifiedClient.zip into C:\Users\<username>\AppWorx
   • Important! This step must be followed exactly or else it could result in an error such as "AwE-5051 Missing File"
4. Double Click RunClient.jar
5. Create a shortcut to RunClient.jar by right-clicking and choosing "Send To > Desktop (create shortcut)"
