"Session Expired" or "A break-in attempt was detected."


I cannot log into MyCharleston.

I get an error that says, "Session Expired."

I get an error that says, "A break-in attempt was detected."






Another session is active.

Browser cache retained a session making the session appear as active.

More than one session cookie was detected.



  1. Make sure you are not logged into MyCharleston in any other browsers or devices.
  2. Clear your browser cache and restart the browser.
  3. Try from a private browser window.
  4. Try another web browser.
  5. Reset browser settings.
  6. Try from another computer.
  7. If the issue is still unresolved, you are a newly admitted student, and are receiving this error when attempting to access eBill, an administrator may need to check your Goatpad record. Please submit a support ticket, using the Account Permission Request, and an administrator will look at your account. An administrator will contact you.
