Access Your U:/ Drive on Windows 10

Issue

How do I access my U drive (user folder on \\wharfside) from Windows 10?

Environment

Windows 10

Resolution

Method 1

  1. Click the File Explorer icon on the task bar (The icon looks like a file folder).
  2. Click "This PC" on the left.
  3. Your user folder should be mapped and listed under "Network Locations" on the right. Double click the mapped drive to open it.


Method 2

  1. Open Cortana (looks like a white circle, next to the start button)
  2. In the Search box type: \\wharfside
  3. Press Enter
  4. Choose the Users folder that your own user folder is located in, the choose your own user folder to open it.


Method 3

  1. Press the Windows key and the letter R key on the keyboard (Win+R). The Run window will open.
  2. In the Run window, type: \\wharfside
  3. Press Enter (or click OK)
  4. Choose the Users folder that your own user folder is located in, the choose your own user folder to open it.
