Create a Shortcut for an Application

Issue

I would like to have an icon for an application (Word, Outlook Adobe, etc.) added to my Desktop, Taskbar, Start Menu, or Dock. How do I do that?

MacOS

 

Resolution

Windows 7

  1. Search for the application in your All Programs menu.
  2. Right-click the application.
  3. Choose the option you would like:
    • Send To>Desktop
    • Pin to Start Menu
    • Pin to Taskbar

 

Windows 10

  1. Search for the application
  2. Right-click the application
  3. Choose the option you would like:
    • Pin to Start
    • Pin to Taskbar
    • Open File Location. When the file location opens in Windows Explorer, right-click the application and Send To>Desktop.

 

Mac OS X

  1. Click Go>Applications.
  2. Drag/drop the alias to the Desktop or to the Dock
