Hopefully, this will answer some of your questions. Let me break this down a little for you.
A ROLE is how you access tables and you can have select/insert/delete/update available.
A CLASS is how you access a form or other object within BANNER. You can have Query or Modify access.
ePrint has 2 modes for users:
- one that is view only reports in ePrint,
- one that needed to create reports in ePrint (they run reports in Banner INB and select for the report to “print” to ePrint).
IAM's will put a user in a role. Whoever needs to run reports to ePrint needs the USR_EXT_EPRINT role
IAM will give a user either of these classes. There are two classes that currently are in use in ePrint:
- BAN_COFC_EPRINT_C – A GENERAL CLASS FOR EPRINT
- BAN_COFC_S_FA_EPRINT – BANNER STUDENT FINANCIAL AID EPRINT REPORTS
Not every form in banner can generate a report. The only object in the class BAN_COFC_F_GENERAL_REPORTS or BAN_COFC_EPRINT_C will generate a ePrint report.
The ability to edit the ePrint doc is control by the users Modify or Query access to the inital INB form.
per Ellucian
" Report authorization determines which report(s) a user may access. ePrint validates the
report objects contained in ePrint against report objects the user has permission to access
in Banner. Only those report objects to which the user has access, as defined on the Oracle/
Banner Security Maintenance Form (GSASECR), will be displayed on ePrint’s main
report selection screen."
