Issue:
Although I've moved so many files to OneDrive, my machine's storage is still nearly used up.
How do I have OneDrive store files as offline or online-only files to save space?
Environment:
OneDrive
Windows OS
Mac OS
Resolution:
OneDrive has a feature called OneDrive Files On-Demand, which will allow you to save space on your computer. It is not enabled by default, but you can enable it. With this feature, you can:
- Save space on your device by making files online only
- Set files and folders to be always available locally on your device
- See important information about files, such as whether they are shared
- See thumbnails of over 300 different file types even if you don’t have the required application installed to open it
Information on how to enable the feature based on the machine type you are using, please review the instructional guides provided by Microsoft.
