PDF File Couldn't be Downloaded

I can't open pdf files from the internet.

I sign into a website, and when I try to open the pdf file, the message says: "[name of file] couldn't be downloaded."

Security settings prevent the file from being opened from the Internet.

  • Instead of opening, try the option to save the file first. Then open it with Adobe Acrobat from your computer instead of using the browser.
  • Alternatively, you can make Adobe Acrobat your default program to view .pdf files. This will allow the file to open directly in Adobe instead of using your browser, so the browser security settings will not interfere with the file opening.
  • If the download was interrupted, look for an option to Resume to allow it to finish.
