VPN - Computer Security is Unsatisfactory

Issue:

I'm having trouble connecting to VPN. The error message says, "can't connect because the computer security is unsatisfactory."

 

Environment:

Windows

Pulse Secure

 

Cause: 

This is usually due to an incorrect or outdated version of Pulse Secure being installed.

 

Resolution:

  1. Uninstall Pulse Secure from your computer, and re-install it from https://cofc.sharepoint.com/sites/cofc-software/VPN%20Clients/Forms/AllItems.aspx. This will likely resolve the issue.
  2. If the issue is still not resolved, also try the following:
    • Check for and install OS Updates
    • Make sure your Internet connection is secure (one that requires username/password, and is not for public use)
    • Make sure the anti-virus software is up to date and not blocking Pulse Secure from running.
