Issue:

How do I enable a private browsing window or incognito mode?

 

Environment:

Web browsers

 

Cause: 

Private browsing is a privacy feature that creates a temporary session that is isolated from the browser's main session and user data.

 

Resolution:

Internet Explorer

Press CTRL+SHIFT+P

 

Microsoft Edge

Current versions (blue-green icon): press CTRL+SHIFT+N

Old version (dark blue 'e' icon): press CTRL+SHIFT+P

 

Mozilla Firefox

Press CTRL+SHIFT+P

 

Google Chrome

Press CTRL+SHIFT+N

 

macOS Safari

Press CMD+SHIFT+N
