Your MyCharleston login is not an email address. You may use the below link to look up your MyCharleston login.

The initial password is: CWID + birthdate (mmddyy) + A!   

For example, if your CWID number is 12345678, and your birthdate is January 1, 2001, then your password would be: 12345678010101A!

You will be prompted to change the password when you log in. You may locate your CWID using the link below.

The first time you log into MyCharleston, you will be prompted to set up MyCharleston Secret Questions and Answers.

We encourage you to also register for Self-Service Password Reset, because this is the quickest and easiest way to reset your password across multiple systems (OAKS, MyCharleston, Eduroam, etc.). Your User ID for this portal is your MyCharleston username followed by ( The password is the same you use for MyCharleston.

If you have logged in before, but do not remember your password, you may use one of the following options to reset it.

*Enter your full email address for the User ID. For recently accepted students without a CofC email, this would be your MyCharleston username followed by ( Locate Your MyCharleston Login Here.

This is the preferred method to reset your password. All staff, faculty and students can use this method to reset their password, provided that they have registered their account. Using this method immediately removes intruder detection locks from your account, and changes your password across all related systems.

MyCharleston Secret Questions and Answers

Anyone with a MyCharleston account may use the MyCharleston Secret Questions and Answers to reset their password. You are prompted to set up the answers to your secret questions the first time you log into MyCharleston. If your account is expired, locked, or disabled due to security reasons, you will not be able to reset your password using this method. Instead, contact IT Service Desk for assistance. See the "Still Need Assistance?" section below.

You will need to provide the following to verify your identity when you contact IT Service Desk:

  1. Your full name on record
  2. Your CWID (Locate Your CWID Here)
  3. Your date of birth
  4. The last 4 digits of your SSN (International Students who do not have a social security number will need to supply their Passport ID number instead)
