Issue:
When I try to open a pdf file, I get a window from Adobe requiring a Serial Number.
When I try to open a pdf file, I get an error message that says "Something went wrong."
Environment:
Adobe Acrobat
College-owned computers
Cause:
Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) requires a license to be used. If the computer has Adobe CC installed and that license expired, Adobe Acrobat may prompt for a serial number when opened.
Resolution:
There are two options:
- Renew the Adobe CC license.
- Reinstall Adobe Acrobat. The college has a campus-wide license for Adobe, so even if you no longer uses the Creative Suite, you can use Adobe Acrobat. You just need to re-install it so that it uses our campus-wide license instead of the expired Creative Suite license.
